"Sultan:The Warrior" A gift from soundarya to Rajnikanth.
"It's a daughter's gift to her father" - that's how Soundarya, daughter of Tamil superstar Rajnikant, describes her full-length animation film 'Sultan: The Warrior' to be released Nov this year.
Addressing mediapersons after a special screening of the second trailer of the much-awaited film, Soundarya sounded thrilled over producing the first-ever animation film made around an Indian actor.
She also confessed that her Appa (father) was initially very hesitant to play the role. She was happy, however, that he agreed after "all his apprehension were allayed".
Except Rajnikant, all the characters would be animated. The superstar would have his "jodi" (female opposite). Further details about the movie, however, are strictly under wraps.
The film, being made at a cost of $10 million by Adlabs, along with Soundarya's own Ocher Studio, will be released in 12 languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.
Soundarya said that the film is a "collective effort of 80 of us from the Ocher Studio".
The second trailer showed Rajnikant fighting the villains in his familiar style.
A.R. Rahman scores the music for the film, which will have four songs. One of these will be in English, and the search is on for a Western singer.
Now Namitha to dance to "Folk Tunes"
The very voluptuous vixen Namitha has ended 2007 on a high note with her ‘Azhagiya Tamil Magan’ and the latest release 'Billa' catapulting her to the major league.

‘Karakatakaran’ was one of the biggest hits of 1990 and this film set around the life of a folk dancer. This film was a phenomenal success but the subsequent movies that tried to emulate its success by riding on the same genre failed to do so with the exception of ‘Naatupura Paatu’, which was an average hit.
Now another film produced by Nemichand Jabak productions with Hitesh Jabak as producer titled ‘Paandi’ delves on the same topic.
This film stars Lawrence as hero and Sneha as heroine, it has Namitha playing a significant role of a Karakatakari in the movie.
Namitha feels that the success of this movie will definitely put her among the top heroines in Tamil cinema and also revive the genre of films based on folk dance.

Shriya "Skirts" the trouble!!!!

The commotion is all about an 'indiscretion' Shriya committed the other day. The occasion was the function to mark the silver jubilee of the Rajnikant-Shriya starrer ‘Sivaji - The Boss’, in Chennai.
Shriya's cardinal mistake- to have appeared in a mini skirt with a plunging neckline. Among the august audience was super star Rajnikant and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M . Karunanidhi, actors, directors and producers.
If they were horrified, they did not show it. But an activist of the Hindu Makkal Katchi thought otherwise.
The outraged worker filed a complaint with the police. His charge- Shirya's dress militated against 'Hindu culture' and hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
But full credit to Shriya. Aware of the fate that befell Khushboo , Suhasini , Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen , Ms. Shriya Saran promptly tendered an apology.
Her explanation was: She came to the Chennai function straight from a shooting schedule for her Hindi film, 'Mission Istanbul' in Hyderabad. As she was getting late, she did not have the time to change her dress. Hence the lapse.
Let us hope now that with the apology in place, the activist would be pacified.

Asin , the next big thing from south into Bollywood ?
Top Tamil heroine, Asin seems to have completely bowled over Bollywood with her ample charm.
This conclusion is inescapable given the number of offers the Kerala-born actress is getting from Bollywood.
Well, the take on the chirpy lass is that she has been signed up for at least three more Hindi films.
Asin will be Shahid Kapur 's heroine in Ken Ghosh 's next flick. Then there is this Sohail Khan 's musical film in which she is pitted against Salman Khan. Great going girlie!
Last but not the least is the news that Asin will play Amitabh Bachchan's daughter in director Honey Irani 's new movie.
So busy is the diplomatic heroine that she has not signed up any new film in Tamil, according to the buzz.
The only Tamil film of hers that is awaiting release is the Kamal Haasan magnum opus, 'Dasavatharam'.
Only time will tell if history is repeating itself in the likes of Sridevi through Asin.
