The market is in a flurry with a most exciting newsbuzz to kickstart the new year! Post-Sivaji there has been lots of speculation about Superstar's next film. The only official updates have been about Soundarya's animation film, Sultan.
The superstar's 'Sivaji The Boss' set the box office ringing worldwide and is still doing so with record break collections.
Murugadoss and Raghava Lawrence were supposed to have signed projects with the Superstar. But nothing has been officially confirmed. Then there was a rumour that Rajinikanth would do his next film with Mani Ratnam, and some insiders were saying that Shanker might approach 'the Boss' to star in his film 'Robot' after Shah Rukh Khan opted out of the film due to 'creative differences' between the director and the actor. There were rumours that the director even approached Aamir Khan!
And now, rumour seems to be turning into fact as the news of Superstar Rajinikanth teaming up Shankar and A.R. Rahman once again. This exciting project 'Robot'. Again there were different stories emerging as to who will be producing the film. There are some insiders who claim that this big budget film will be produced by a Mumbai-based production house, and there are others who say that none other than the 'Billa' money-makers Ayngaran International will produce the movie.
Shankar, famous for his expertise in high funda film-making techniques, could thrill filmgoers, especially Rajnikanth fans wordwide when 'Robot' hits the screens. Movie buffs and 'Superstar' fans say that if this duo get together again, it could be highly volatile.
There is also news that shankar may sign Amitabh Bachchan too for the film. It may be recalled that the two stars have worked together earlier in films like 'Andha Kanoon' and 'Hum'.
With 'Billa' doing brilliantly at the box-office and many other films lined up, Ayngaran International is proving itself to be a corporate-minded and formidable force in the world of movie production. 'Robot' could well be the jewel in its crown. After the stupendous success, box-office-wise and hype-wise, of 'Sivaji The Boss', the Shankar-Rajinikanth-A.R. Rahman team definitely promises a Midas touch to anyone backing them financially.
Mr. Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International was not available for comment in this regard – we can well understand that he must be super-busy ironing out the details of this mega-deal!
We wish the team all the best with this exciting new venture!
